Non-Immigrant Visas

Non-Immigrant Visas

The U.S. Embassy in Antananarivo issues non-immigrant visas for residents of Madagascar, Comoros, and the island of Mayotte.  Visa services are by appointment only.  Appointments are made online at the appointment web site

All visa applicants must use the online Application  web site to complete their application and schedule their interview.  Applicants MUST complete the DS-160 form online, and after the submission, print out the confirmation page and bring it with them to the visa interview. Make sure the confirmation page to bring to the Embassy contains a photo and legible bar code printed from a laser printer.

. The form MUST be completed in English. Here is a list of potential Cyber Cafés and photo shops (PDF 174KB). There is no charge for this or any other U.S. non-immigrant visa application form. On the same web site, applicants will also schedule their visa appointment.

Visa appointments can now be made 24 hours/day online. Go here to make an appointment.  Different procedures apply for diplomats and official government travelers.

Processing times: It currently takes one day to process most non-immigrant visas.  Visas can not be ready on the same day as the interview.  In a few cases, additional administrative processing is required, which takes on average 30 days, but can take longer.  To avoid problems, applicants are urged to apply 1 month earlier, but not more than 90 days prior to their travel. For the latest processing time information, see Visa Wait Times.
